GET TO KNOW THE SFSH

Only whose who burn for something can spark a flame in others. You, too, can experience the passion that we have in teaching you everything you need to know as an actor/actress.

SCHULE FÜR SCHAUSPIEL HAMBURG (SfSH) is a state-recognised and BAföG-funded acting school. Since 1992, we have devoted ourselves to the training of the next generation of actors. It is particularly important to us to equip you with a large repertoire of skills. That is why the school also works with the principle of a variety of methods.

We are particularly proud to be able to offer you a degree in theatre and/or film acting - the choice is yours! Regular private and public performances, workshops with renowned guest lecturers such as Marie Bäumer, Benjamin Teske and Jens Roth and strong contact with producers, directors and casting agencies round off the practice-oriented profile of our vocational acting training!

DO YOU DREAM ABOUT BECOMING A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR?

Then the SFSH is the right place to be. At our school we offer various ways toward a vocational acting training. You can take part in the traditional audition, live and online, or participate in our Workshop/Orientation course or the Preparatory Semester. At the end of each, you receive a thorough feedback from our lecturers.

FINANCING

Our vocational training is state-recognised and therefore BAföG-eligible. The monthly costs of a full-time vocational training are € 535/month (1st + 2nd year of training) and € 565/month (3rd year of training).

How do I finance the vocational training at SCHAUSPIEL FÜR SCHAUSPIEL HAMBURG?

The training is state-recognised, i.e. “Schüler-BAföG” can be applied for. Unfortunately, we cannot provide any information on the amount of the BAföG grant, as it is based on the respective income of your parents. Schüler-BAföG does not have to be paid back.

There is also the possibility of applying for an educational loan with very favourable conditions from the 2nd year on. This educational loan can be applied for at the Bundeskreditanstalt (information at www.bva.bund.de). The education loan can be applied for in addition to BAföG.

Up to 30% of the school fees are tax deductible. The certificate required for this can be completed annually by our staff at the school office.

The schedule is designed in such a way that it is possible for students to work on the side.

LET YOURSELF BE SUPPORTED

PerformancePlus scholarship for special creativity from the Förderverein der Schule für Schauspiel Hamburg 033 e.V.

Since 2015, the Förderverein has been awarding scholarships that financially support young actors at the SfSH in their final year of training.

In order to be able to rely on talented artists in the future, it is the personal wish and goal of the drama enthusiasts of the Förderverein to financially support outstanding students in their crucial training phase. Creativity and artistic personality should develop freely so that the young talents can devote themselves entirely to their training.

In the second year of your training, you can apply for a scholarship that supports you financially for the entire last year.

VARIETY OF METHODS AS A GUIDING PRINCIPLE

In the final year of your training you have the choice between a film or a theatre degree, or you can do both!

about-us_tim-nelki

"I decided to graduate with a theatre degree because there is an energy and emotionality on stage that I can't find anywhere else. From naturalistic classics to grotesque modern pieces: a magical game of beauty and truth." — Tim Nelki

about-us_anika-lamade

„I decided to do a film degree because I am fascinated and enthusiastic about the possibilities that can be realised with films today and I am enjoying to play in front of the camera. For me, no other degree would be an option. — Anika Lamade

about-us_abid-ciplak

"I chose the double degree because art knows no boundaries and to choose between theatre or film would thus constrain the art." — Abid Ciplak

FILM DEGREE

If you opt for a film degree or a double degree (film and theatre), you will create two demo tape scenes during the 6th semester. You use these scenes to apply to agencies and production companies after your training. These scenes are your application material in the film industry
